Streaming that puts musicians first. Finally.
Stanley's been saying this for years, mostly to anyone who'd listen and several people who wouldn't. The Pack is Australia's first musician-owned streaming co-operative, built on a simple idea: seventy cents of every dollar you spend walks straight home to the artist you actually played. Not the biggest name on the platform. The one you chose. The rest keeps the sector growing and the lights on. No shareholders quietly taking a cut, no algorithm deciding who gets heard. Just music, paid for properly, and a dog who's very pleased about it.
The model
70% direct to artists. Always.
Here's the maths, and it's good maths for once. Every dollar of your subscription is split by what you actually listened to, so the artists you love get paid, not the ones with the biggest marketing budget behind them. Stanley did check this arrangement carefully. He approves.
The structure
Owned by its members. Exclusively.
The Pack is a registered co-operative, which means there's no outside shareholder waiting on an exit, no VC quietly steering the ship. One member, one vote, whether you're playing to three people at the local or selling out a stadium. The people who use it are the people who own it. Stanley finds this extremely satisfying and has said so, loudly, more than once.
The mission
Local music, found locally.
There's a musician a few suburbs over who plays every Friday night at the pub down the road, and the algorithm has never once thought to mention them to you. Not because they're not good enough. Because it doesn't know your suburb exists. The Pack's geo-fenced discovery does, human-curated, no black box, no mystery logic deciding what you're allowed to find. Stanley found his local favourites this way. So can you.
The Numbers
70%
of your subscription goes directly to the artists you listen to.
~23¢
per capita arts funding in WA, against $2 and rising in NSW. We're building the case for closing that gap, properly.
~2,000
streams on the old model won't buy you a beer. On The Pack, every one of those streams already counts.
